I have a tv show on my HD and i want to be able to view it on my dvd player which is hooked to my tv. Anways, i used divx to dvd to encode it into the proper dvd format with Audio_TS and Video_TS folders. The Video_TS has all the appropriate files. I proceeded to burn with the same program. However, when i insert the disk into the player, i get a "disk error" message and it can not read it. The disk plays as a dvd on my comp and on PS2 as well. THe media is RiDATA +R. I know +r works on my dvd player since whole dvd back ups play with the same media. Here are the .avi data from avicodec:
    File : 347 MB (347 MB), duration: 0:42:16, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 56 %
    Video : 308 MB, 1020 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 512*384 (4:3), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported
    Audio : 38 MB, 128 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG
    Layer-3, Supported

I dont know what to do, any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thx

Well, if the burnt copy can play on the pc and the ps2, the burning has been successful. Now you say it won't play on the standalone, and this would have something to do with compatibility between hardware and software. I take it you're using the commercial shareware version of VSO which has a burning engine. I've tested the program and found that while the encoding part is excellent, the burning part is just so so. So you may first try encode with VSO, but burn with another program (e.g. Nero) to see if you get better results. Or you can also try change the media.

    Good luck!

P.S.: Try also burn at lower speeds, like 2-4x.

If you have Nero Recode, this is how to do it:

Run Recode, click 'copy entire dvd to dvd', then 'import dvd', then go highlight the video_ts folder of the movie, and follow from there.

    Good luck!
