i downloaded a dvd-r yesterday and got the same message from my dvd player, I think it's because youre trying to play another region movie on youre dvd player but im not possitive. try checking the region settings in options in divxtodvd.

You're trying to play a DVD from another region on your PS2. The PS2 firmware doesn't allow you to play discs from another region. I.E. You can't play a PAL DVD on an NTSC PS2. There's currently no fix for this.

No idea. I don't use VSO ConvetxtoDVD. I've read that encoding a DVD to another region greatly reduces picture quality, never tired it myself.

go to settings>>>>TV Format and change the video standard to either PAL(Europe) or NTSC(US,Asia).

It'd probably be easier to get a Dual Format DVD Player. You can get one for like $40 just about anywhere that sells electronics. I use a POS Aspire which plays anything I've ever thrown at it, regardless of format or region. Even with the remote, the PS2 is a low end DVD player. Cheap DVD players seem to work, at least for me. That's one area that's not worth investing $100's in, at least to me.
