tv tuner software

not sure if this is the appropriate section, please move it if I have my question misplaced. sorry.

I just recently purchased a visionTek HD 650 pcie tv tuner. everything works great, but i'm not too thrilled about the bundled ATI media center software. It's really slow, freezes a lot, and in general just isn't that great.

I like windows media center for my vista ultimate, but it isn't QAM capable from what I understand.

are there any GOOD alternatives?? I use a comcast cable connection directly from the wall without a set top box... my understanding is that I should be able to receive digital QAM channels in this manner with the HD 650 tuner I am using... but i don't know what software will allow me to do this.

any help is much appreciated!
