Any major problem with DVD burner Master and another older burner as slave on same IDE channel? No plans to burn both at same time but would use one as a DVD burner exclusively and the other as a DVD reader and CD burner.

Already have IDE 80 pin cable. Question really is whether I can put a spare DVD ROM/ CD writer or 2nd DVD burner as a slave on the same IDE channel as my primary DVD burner (master). Will there be a conflict?

I have 4 newer Dell's with 2 burners on the same IDE channel in each both set to cable select. If it's other than Dell brand computer than it is more than likely set up for master slave.you should be fine with that setup.
