Ok i have winAVI and Nero. I am looking to convert 17 south park epsiodes from MPEG. to VOB. and put them onto 1 DVD DISC. Currently only 10 or so will fit. Is there a way i can compress the files so i can fit all 17 onto one disc? Will this lessen the quality and if it does by how much?

My other question is if i converted the files to VCD files would they be able to be burned onto a DVD disc? and would the VCD files be smaller than the VOB files?

Thank you (sorry for being noob)

    hi

if it were me i would use divxtodvd and load all 10 at once! its a free app, it will output vob/ifo/bup for burning!

they will play one after the other on dvd!

yes size of vobs will be an issue, i would go svcd instead of vcd for quilty! svcd is cdr's i think not dvdrs!

for svcd use avi2dvd a free app, use the built in encoder HCEnc, its a good all rounder! you can use it for dvdr to! and load multiple files aswell, this will play one after the other too!

but you could go 2 dvdr's and have 5 a disc say?

    your chioce

Are you 100& sure that svcds will be burned onto a cdr? Can someone just confirm this?

dual layered discs: 8.4gig would be a better way to go , you should be able to get them all onto one disc depending on how big each file is after the conversion

once you get everything converted to the dvd files. You can use dvd shrink. It shrinks all the files so it will fit on a dvd-r. I use that process all the time my shit.
