I had all my Home Theater setup on the other day,wence a Very Rare SoCal. T-Storm in MAY?! Hits! My Acoustic Research surge protector was connected to my Sony receiver,Panasonic TV,Go-video DVD/VCR player,Directv DVR,AND TWO SV2000 Funai standalone DVD recorders,model 10DW6! Got them at WalMart 2007.One in Jan.,other in December.After "burnung many of my favorite programs,THESE 2,one on,the other,merely ,PLUGGED ,in! Funai said unplug for 15 minutes! No Good.Opened up cabinet,fuse OK. Power was out here in RV Park(permenant residence)!I know I got my monies worth one for $50 ,11 months later,got one for $80! At least 300 DVDs later "POOF"!Now I can't complain much,but I was going to get another one at these prices ,but couldn't find one.Also here in the mountains closest town,Radio Shack sold there last DVDR,and KMart was OUT of Magnavox! Now on a "fine" Military memorial movie weekend,I Ain't got a DVD recorder! boo hoo,right? At least I have 4% ,left on my DVR! Anybody got a suggestion ,as I wanna at least "try" a minor troubleshoot of these two,well used units?
Just happen to have a "spare" PC100 Monster Power surge protector! Gonna send this Acoustic Researh AR10S back to Engineer! "They" said he will determine WHY ,the SV2000 Funai DVDRs "FRIED",while Go-Video DVD/VCR ,Directv DVR,Panasonic TV,Sony Receiver(Surround)DID NOT? I can't find my receipt for it either,but emailed monster.com ,to ensure ,They back what they sell.T-Storms ,here in SoCal Mountains VERY unpredictable ,as are others. THIS Monster Surge Protector is supposedly ,"High End",also?Menwhile Trust WHOM?
