Are those pictures using original Epson Ink, or are those generic inks. I have generic inks, will my ty watershields still look good?
Great covers!!! The ty's are the watershields and she's shining pretty good on the top pic. I see some white on the edges of the tys. Looks like your print position needs lowered by .1 mm,then raise the outer to 119 or 120 mms.If it prints any excess, then you can wipe it off. Same on the verbs, .1 mm down. Those are still some great covers.I can't wait to get my hands on those ty watershields. Are the verbs glossy or matte? I'm guessing they are matte.
No, generic ink from Abacus. They should. That's my only con from the TY's, the outer white edges are not printable, the ink smears on the outer edges. Yeah, if I print with 119, I will get nothing but smeared ink on the edges. And with the verbs, my R200 just needs to be calibrated, just to lazy:0. I am not sure if I got a bad batch, since I am still on my first. So if any other users can chime in, that will be helpful. Yeah, the verbs are matte. Overall I still would recommend the TY's, amazing print quality even on my aging R200.
Can someone point me in the direction of how to print onto the dvd? Im getting a light scribe burner, but Id rather not even use light scribe.
It's pretty easy to print on the disc. Espon cd printers come with the program called Epson Print cd. Lower the disc tray, insert the inkjet printable disc into the template-after it was burned. Slide that template into the printer's disc try, line up arrows. Then open up Epson Print cd-you'll see a disc template pop up with square blocks around it.Import/picture/locate that cover from your disc covers folder/ok. Some covers you may have to drag so the picture covers the entire template. After everything lines up in that template on the screen, click print. Covers are very easy to find: http://covers.box.sk/. http://www.cdcovers.cc/ http://www.cdcoverz.com/ http://www.coveruniverse.com/search.php?q=doom&c=4 http://www.freecovers.net/browse/movies.a.html http://www.customcdlabels.com/ http://www.generetic.org/ http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/index.php http://www.lightscribecovers.com/ Create a folder for your covers, download your labels from those sites, save picture as. Then dig them out when you open epson print cd's program. I've got lightscribe as well and there's no contest. Shiny silver inkjet printable looks a lot better than LS.Takes 35 mins to scribe vs 2 mins to print. Wear and Tear will also add up when using the LS feature.
Thanks for the suggestions on printing the DVD's. I do have a problem though. Burning this type of DVD. I can Burn any other dvd in my dvd burner but this one. I can burn and print light scribe in the light scribe CD/DVD burner and burn Printable CD in the burner..and print on my Epson RX-580. I just can not burn the DVD. Any suggestions would be great. I have a Gatewat GT5432, 2 GB Ram, 300Gb hard drive. Anyhelp would be appreciated.
Download this free program and try to ID those blank discs, and it'll also reveal your burner's model # and current firmware version. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd-r_tools/dvd_identifier.cfm Are you getting an illegal disc error? What's the brand name/format/and rated speed of your media? Most likely a firmware issue. Especially if your dvd-rw drive is old and you're using the newer/faster 16x media.Your drive may not know how to properly burn that batch of media and hopefully there's a newer firmware update for it that we can look up for you. That usually does the trick,if the manufacturer of your drive releases the updates.
Okay I bought: 1. Memorex Printable dvd 2. Maxell Printable dvd 3. Verbatim Printable dvd None of it worked. I gave a Memorex Printable blank disc and a Verbatim Printable blank disc to a friend at work and he was able to burn straight from his computer with no problem. I bought a 500 Gb hard drive, reinstalled Vista and tried it again. Still no luck. The computer is a Gateway 5432 I use: 1. Roxio Media Creator 9 2. Windows MCE 3. Windows movie/DVD Maker 4. Windows Media Player All four of these programs burn a +R DVD with no problem. Example Eureka Season 1 or 2 straight off my hard drive. They just will not burn a Printable +R DVD. I bought the computer brand new in April 2007 from Circuit City I checked for the Firmware and I have the most updated firmware.
I finally got into a 10 trial pk of those babies and they look phenomenal. 10x better than my Full hub matte verb/maxells. Species IV is the Watershield, and Live free is the matte FH maxell. My photo doesn't do those 2 discs justice. I will be ordering these from now on, since the price came down considerably in the last year.
I went on ebay a couple weeks ago. I saw 10 pks for $12 and thought it was a good deal, just to test them out. A little over a buck apiece when I looked at them a year ago. I didn't care for how the dealer shipped them to me: Small envelope, each in a paper sleave, with no carboard on the outsides. It's a wander none of them broke. Now they're $36 a 50 pk,not counting shipping here: http://www.burnsmart.com/ty-16x-ws-iwhub-dvdr.html $5 to $10 above that at meritline and supermediastore.com
What printing dimensions are you using? I've gone through a couple of packs now, and I still can't do edge printing. It leaves a white line around the outer edge. Do you have the same problem? I couldn't really tell on those pics, can you take a macro shot of the edge.
20 and 119 outer is where I kept all my full hub matte's. I also use generic ink. I double checked that watershield backup and and there's a 1 mm white ring on the outer-very hard to distinguish. It does look twice as better than my original Species IV disc!!!!! I just took my outer up to 120 mms so hopefully that takes care of that issue. Macro? My pc of crap Kodak camera is lucky enough to take a non blurry photo, LOL. I'm hoping santa brings me a new one!!! I'll try to back something up tomorrow and see if it looks better, and a close up if possible. I've got about 75 more Maxell Full hubs to use up before I order the 50 pk of Ty WS's.
Lol, seems like you need to shop for a new camera. For some reason it does print on the edge, but the ink smears off.
$32 a 50 pk here: http://www.rima.com/Merchant2/merch..._Code=R&Product_Code=1778-50&Category_Code=GP They also got Verbatim glossy for $28 a 50 pk,but not sure if they are regular hub or full hub.
I get my 50 pack from neato.com. they usually cost me 36 bucks including the shipping. You just have to make sure with neato you use their monthly 20% of discount code. This months code is nyjb which expires 12/15/07.
http://www.neato.com/dynamic/CD-DVD-Media/DVD-Rs-DVR-RWs/Taiyo-Yuden/default.aspx I got it bookmarked. I never ordered from them in the past. Are they reliable? Quick shippers?
Yes neato is where i order my watershield from with the discount i usually get them in 3 to 5 days later dependent upon what day of the week i order them on
I tested out my 2nd watershield using a lighter cover from my daughter's Scooby Doo video. The matte full hubs were very disappointing with the lighter covers-which consisted of 50% white background. The cover on that water shield looks fantastic!!! I will be ordering a 50 pk shortly. BTW: After adj the outer from 119 mms to 120 mms,I still had a slight white ring around the outer edge, but on the very edge, there was excess ink on it. Must be something on that part of the edge that won't allow the ink to adhere? No biggie. The white circle isn't noticeable and no reason for me to stop using water shields.
