Hi my friends, if there is a thread for this please direct me.... otherwise my problem is on my HD DVD Fab it goes to 67% and then it freezes up my pc........I've wiped the disc and tried it again and the same thing happens........I have the Fab update version of Dec 31st (which I did today) and it still freezes at 67%..........hearing from you AD buddies will be greatly appreciated.........I have no problems w/any other dvd Thanks ahead of time
Well, the disk could be a bad press. Have you watched it to see if it plays fine? I of course use AnyDVD, so I did not have a problem. One option is to try again after you disable PathPlayer in DVDFab. Select the green check mark and you will see a list of custom settings. One of them is called PathPlayer. Select Disable PathPlayer. There is also a way to tell it to ignore all errors, but I will not go into that information. After the movie is ripped you will probably have to run it through VobBlanker to make sure the DVD Structure is intact. First let's see if you can get it ripped. If you can go ahead and see if DVDShrink can handle it. Another possibility could be your DVD drive not having the latest firmware version on it. Have you tried to watch the movie on your computer?
No I have not try to watch it on tv or pc but I will try on tv in a little while............now what is the difference w/anydvd and hdfab? Do I use both of them........will the anydvd rip it to my pc and then go right to decrypter? Do you find the path player after you put the dvd in or before, because I tried to find it before and couldn't........I learn fast the different things so I appreciate all of your help........will check back for your reply in a few.....thank you
Hi Mumzee. Belated Happy New Year dvdfab updated on 1-7-10 DVDFab HD Decrypter 6.2.2.0 Beta DVDFab 6.2.2.0 Beta (January 7, 2010) New: Updated VSO burning engine. New: Updated Report program. New: Improved error reporting. New: Updated language files. > "DVD to DVD" option: New: Added support for a new protection as found on "Coco Before Chanel". http://72.55.191.8/download/DVDFab6220Beta.exe Fastest DVD Copy Software | Best DVD Decrypter from DVDFab http://www.dvdfab.com/download/DVDFa...angate-675.exe
Hey You, hope your New Year is going well Maybe I went to the wrong site for the HDFAB I don't have Beta so I should do the second one? Just watched the movie and the DVD is fine........is that site still free? Hopefully you are still on line and I will check back in a few......Thanks iluvendo you always lead me in the right direction lol
iluvendo, I just went to the site and it's the same one w/the date I told you except for the Beta version, can I still use the Beta version and what is the difference, and what's the free one under it, is it a different software? Ok, talk to you in a few
mumzee, Most of the Beta downloads for fab are free for the ripper portion of the program. I did not see on the thread that it was for owners of the program only. Here is the thread: Link There are many different rippers available for purchase. DVDFab is nice because it has a free version available. However Fengtao has changed it to where the newest updates are for the people that purchase the software. AnyDVD is a software ripper that is fantastic. Rarely do I have to try to rip with DVDFab, and in most cases if I use Fab I will have to turn off PathPlayer on the program, as well as turn off the, "check for errors" because I'm just going to tell it to ignore all anyway. Basically this means that with a problem movie I may have to even rely on the good ole RipIt4Me. DVDFab will not run if AnyDVD is running. However using the multiple programs in RipIt4Me you may have AnyDVD running. No, AnyDVD is in most cases used in conjunction with CloneDVD2. However, I do not use CloneDVD2. You may tell AnyDVD to just rip the movie directly to your HDD. AnyDVD is not a free program, although it comes with a 21 day free trial. Now that AnyDVD switched to EU currency it is much more expensive than it originally was, but to everyone that owns it they all say the same thing. It's the best there is. You may also download Beta versions of the software if you are having problems, but if you are not an owner then this will not do you any good. You will have to make the change before hand. DVDFab will then tell you to restart the program. Here is a picture of where to find it after you select the green checkmark. If you are still having a problem getting the movie ripped then give AnyDVD a try. Like I said, it comes with a 21 day free trial.
Thank you so much for all the help, just one last question when I use any dvd then do I just do the rest as always dvdshrink then imburn? After the free trial I will purchase it w/o a problem I also have "Hangover" to do so why I'm waiting for your reply I will download the anydvd........
I went to the anydvd site and I was reading comments and it said I have to uninstall dvdshrink first and decrypter (which I assume is dvdfab) I don't have nero I have imgburn........so before I download it I will wait for your reply because I don't want to screw it up (lol) Thanks for the help and patience
Do not remove any of the programs that you already have on your machine!! Mumzee, I have AnyDVD, CloneDVD2, DVD Srhink, DVD Decryper, RipIt4Me, DVDFab, FixVTS, VobBlanker, DVDReMake Pro, and probably a couple of other programs as well. I do not know where you read that you have to remove DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter! :~( Note: You do not need AnyDVD HD if you are not ripping Blue Ray and or HD movies. Standard AnyDVD will work perfect for standard DVD's It also saves you about 30 bucks!! AnyDVD is a little different now. Every 2 years you will have to renew your license for the program. I purchase AnyDVD HD before they changed to Euro currency and before they started the every 2 year thing so I don't have to worry about that. Now here is the way that I do it... You will see a little fox head in your notification area of your task bar (where the clock is!!). That is AnyDVD. When you place in the DVD AnyDVD will take a few seconds to scan the disk. After it scans a pop-up window will open that tells you information about the movie. You could turn this feature off, but I leave it on because 9 out of 10 times it says the name of the movie in the description. I'll give you a pic to look at. Now highlight the name of the movie with your cursor and press Ctrl + C to copy it. Now you may press the OK button since you have the name of the movie copied. Now there are three ways to rip the movie listed below: 1) Open DVD Shrink and try to read straight from the disk. This does fail quite often which is why I do not recommend it. 2) Select Start -> All Programs -> Slysoft -> AnyDVD and you will see a couple of choices. The first choice is AnyDVD Image Ripper, (I never use this feature because I like to clean my movies before I process them to ISO files. I let ImgBurn build the project when burning.), and the second choice is AnyDVD Ripper which is the one I would select if I bothered to do it this way. Then there is the third way which is the way that I do it! 3) Right click the little fox head in the task bar and select Rip Video DVD to Harddisk... Notice that the Rip to Image is also located there. Much quicker to access that way! Now a new pop-up window will open. You will see the second box that says, "Destination Directory:". Select the little yellow folder next to it and select the drive which may be C: if you only have one, or it may be D: if you have a secondary drive, or in my case I have three drives. At the bottom select the button that says, "Make New Folder" and when the new folder presents itself press Ctrl + V to paste the name of the movie you copied earlier. If for some reason the name of the movie was not listed, then you may type the name of the movie. Now tell AnyDVD to start and in about 10 - 20 min. the movie will be on the drive. From this point it is up to you. Do you normally use DVD Shrink with the very little editing that it allows, or do you use another program to clean with? I use DVDReMake Pro and I would say that around 10% of the time after I clean the movie is ready for a standard DVD-5 with no compression. 40% of the time DVD Shrink will work fine (I will not compress unless it is 70% or higher!). The rest of the time and on movies that have a lot of fast action I will use DVD Rebuilder. It is always better to encode than to transcode a movie. Hopefully this information will get the ball rolling for you and your backup of the movie will be complete pretty quick! If you have any further questions feel free to ask!! Have fun with your new toy! You will love it!)
Okay the pest is back with another question this is how I've been doing movies since I've joined AD.........I use HDFAB select Movie "C drive", then DVD Shrink, then Imgburn and it's easy.......so with AnyDVD can I still do the the DVD Shrink and Imgburn? I am a fast learner usually but you are confusing me with having to make folders and everything because once I use the FAB then go to Shrink I just click on open file find it and click on it and after the analyzing and encoding and it's done then I just go to Imgburn and burn and on the HDFAB I always use Main Movie and yes I only have the C drive and one tray that's why I have to do it DVD to DVD and rip it to my pc oh and I read it when I was scrolling down on that page because Creaky taught me to read about things and then if I'm not sure to ask because everyone has their own way of doing things........I just don't understand why it's freezing at 67% and I have the new HD"FAB version and when I download that then it works fine BUT not this time okay going to bed will check back before I go to work tomorrow..... thank you for the step by step views.......I might try the Beta HDFAB version.........I'm always afraid to try something new without talking to my AD friends because you guys always put me in the right direction.......ok that's it for me tonight good night and will check back when I get up..........everyone at AD who's helped me before know I like the shortest, simpliest way to do things so I don't mess up..........
AnyDVD does work with DVDShrink because it is suppose to make the DVD Region Free and Encryption free once it is in the drive. I do not use this method, but it should work for you with no problem. Here is the way to do it easily. Download the DVD Shrink that has been updated to automatically burn using ImgBurn if you do not have it. You may download it here: Stop a sec and pay attention to this. Do not download the direct link at the top of the page. Scroll down and under latest version you will see another link that says, "Download DVD Shrink for Imgburn", that is the one to download. Link Now you will need to open DVD Shrink and follow this step: Edit -> Preferences On the Preferences tab for target size change it to custom and select type in the size 4440. This will keep you from having any over burn on the DVD. Now when you press Backup it will ask you for your destination folder. Just select Burn ISO with ImgBurn and the only space being used on your HDD is temporary space. This should work with almost all movies, although I have never done it. Basically you are using one program to do all the work for you. Even though you are really using three programs! Remember that you will have to change the original disk to a blank disk before it will be able to burn. Let me know how well it works!
Thank you for everything I already have DVDShrink (have been using it forever) I never change anything......I just open file, then when that's done click on backup and always ISO then when done I burn using Imgburn.........so I will download the ANYDVD and let you know how it goes........I just might download the Beta Version of HDFAB also...........Thanks again for all the great help
No problem with giving you some help. Downloading and having more than one program to rip with is always a good idea. The Beta version of DVDFab may get the job done for you. There is also a Beta version of AnyDVD available. Here is the link, and it is available for trial as well. Link to Beta AnyDVD Edit: By the way, the link I dropped for DVD Shrink has the workings for direct burn with ImgBurn. If you have the original then it will not do it unless you make a little tweak to your system files. I could explain how to do that, but what would be the point since the original program was at least updated to burn with ImgBurn instead of just Nero. Just a little information for you to know.
Ok here I go again, I downloaded anydvd and it's not anything like HDFab because it says "E" drive and mine goes to "c" drive there's no choice for main movie or to rip to "c" drive so I can use my dvdshrink .........does it give you choices after you put a movie in? When I click on the fox it's just a blank page.......I downloaded the update BetaHDFab and had no problem with "The Hangover" but then I tried the one that freezes and it froze my pc again so that's when I downloaded the anydvd but I just don't understand how to work it and I'm sure it will be easy once I actually learn how.....I read all your directions to use anydvd but let me be sure I have it right.... I have an icon on desk top and one by clock....now do I click on desktop icon to open anydvd, then put dvd in, then go to one by clock and right click? Then select "rip video dvd to harddrive? (I'm not good at pasting or anything like that so I will skip the title part if that's ok) Then I click on destination directory and select little yellow folder and select drive "C", then at bottom select make new folder and type in name of movie and then tell it to start...do I have it right? Now when it's done and I open my dvdshrink and click on file will I still be able to see my movie to click on and then just do the rest like I always do? Sorry, but I told you I read and ask questions and pay attention to be sure I understand everything and once I do I never ask the same questions again....I just hope my pc will not freeze again because that gets so frustrating......you are definitely added to my list of AD friends (hope you don't mind) so I will know who has helped me and had the patience to put up with me I have been given corrective criticism by a few BUT I don't mind one bit because that's how I learn......the greatest of their pet peeves is me going to the right thread, but they know I apologize and they head me in the right direction...........I have complete respect for everyone who has helped me!!!! Will check back when I get home from work........one thing you will learn from me and that is I'm hard-headed so when I'm stumped on something I never quit til I conquer it lol Thanks Again
Okay, Now first off you do not have to make a folder like I originally said. You can just select the C: drive in the destination and AnyDVD will create the folder for you. Sometimes the movie title is not complete or something not like a movie title at all, but you will know that it is the movie. So let's start from the beginning, like this is the first time I'm telling you how to use it. 1) You do not need to double click the icon unless AnyDVD is not in the task bar because you turned it off (by right clicking the fox head in the task bar and selecting "Exit"), or if you disabled the auto start feature in AnyDVD. AnyDVD scans the disk as soon as you put it in the drive. It will look like this: After AnyDVD scans the disk it will give the information pop-up window which tells you information about the disk encryption as well as the title of the disk. I've posted this in one of the earlier post, but I will post it again for you to see now. Now this is not the same movie I selected again, this time I put in Star Trek Nemesis. Here is just a small example of name changes that will be applied by AnyDVD to the folder that it will create for you. This is where I would change the name on the folder, but you do not need to worry about it. You will know what movie you are working on because I'm sure that you only do one or two at a time. Now you may press the OK button to close the pop-up menu. Now right click the little fox head to bring up a list of options. Select the one highlighted in blue that says, "Rip Video DVD to Harddisk..." Now the AnyDVD Ripper program will start and present you with a couple of new things. The first thing is the source drive or your DVD drive on your machine. Now I'm using my server as my other computer is using DVD RB at this time. I only have one drive on this machine. My other machine has two. And now the last step. The destination of where you file will be located. Notice the "1" is to select the yellow folder. Then the second window will open and this is where you see the "2" to highlight the C: Drive. And then you see the "3", that is where the destination folder is C:. Now just select the Copy DVD button to process the rip. After it is done you may open it with DVD Shrink from the file button. Currently I'm going to try to run this movie with DVD Shrink directly. AnyDVD is running in the back ground and should remove all protection. I will let you know if it works.
Okay sounds alot easier, but after it's ripped and before I go to DVDSHRINK I close the anydvd program and take the movie out just like I do w/FAB and then open my DVDSHRINK.....I will check back with you to see how it went for you and then tonight I will try it.....just got home from work and am watching the Saints game talk to you in few
You may close the AnyDVD application that is running, but leave the little fox head in the task bar all the time. DVDFab you open and close, but AnyDVD you just leave running in the task bar. Of course if you are going to use DVDFab, then you will have to exit the program in the task bar, but you may open it again with the icon or after you reboot your machine it will auto open for you.
Thank you for everything......just got home from work so will do movie later this evening Now I know why when I used my dvdshrink for The Hangover the anydvd opened......so now I know how to exit it and close it........you have been great and very patient and I thank you........will let you know how I did, I just hope it doesn't freeze on me..........
PROBLEMS......when I put movie in the prompt came up like you said saying it's scanning disk, but then a prompt came up saying 1)DVD Media is dirty try to clean it 2)DVD Media is damaged replace it 3) Your drive region is locked RPC2 drive which does not allow reading of scrambled sectors from a different region. Known drives having this problem are RICOH/PHILIPS DVD writers and Matshita/Panasonic DVD readers and writers-you can try to find a RPC1 patched firmware at www.rpc.com 4)Your drive is an RPC2 drive that has not yet been assigned a region try to assign one..........this is definitely all Greek to me........I know the movie is not damaged because I watched it and the rest of this I know nothing about........so does this mean I can't use the anydvd? Will check back in a few for your response
