Hi, 1) I first burnt a 3,5 gig ISO file to a DVD-R. I burnt it as a single file not 'burn-image-to-disk'. Since the file was large, Nero 6.6 told me to use UDF file system insted of my usual iso9660. 2) I have since added data on 3 occasions and the disc is now full. I have always had Nero 'verify the written data' to see if something went wrong while burning. My problem now is that in XP only the first session is visible. But if I use Nero's 'Display disc information' I can see all 4 tracks and if I choose New->Continue multisession as if I was to add a 5th track then all data ever burnt to this disc appear as already present on the disc. But this is only within Nero. In other applications I cannot see more than the first track. For all 4 tracks I have used the same burner and the same computer/OS. 3 questions: A- What has happened? B- Can I access the data from the later sessions somehow? C- Why did Nero allow me to burn 3 extra sessions when they would not be visible/accessible? I'd be greatful if anyone has clues as to how to deal with this problem. Thanks!
I think your problem is the fact that you multisessioned it. You can read-up on the UDF format on Wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Disk_Format Were you just burning a Data DVD?
Hi, Yes I was only burning data in all 4 sessions. I read the wiki info but regrettably I don't get any wiser from it. Any other possibilities/suggestions?
Ya, to be honest I didn't know anything about UDF before I spotted this post. I just started reading anything I could find on it, and i'm just making guesses. I'm a software buff >_<
Yikes this is getting wierd!! I tried the disc in my gaming OS, which is another but slimmer install of the same OS on the same computer (i.e. dual boot), and there the disc works fine!! It only does not work in my main OS where Nero is installed and where i do my burning. This is fishy.... Gonna post over at MS forums...
