i live in england and my ip adress is 82.37.133.152 subnet 255.255.248.0 default 82.37.128.1 if i change these setting to the recomended settings will i still be able to connect to the internet after i have finished or will i have to keep changing back to my origanal settings to get on line.
my ip adress is more less same you dont touch your ip adress its the network card you put the adress in you must have a network card to ftp myself am not using a router im using a adsl modem and some old network cards dont work so i went to pcworld bought a ten pound network card and it worked fine here the steps i did go into control panel then network connections then rightclick on lan local area connection goto propertiesthen doble click on internet protocol tcip then click on use the following ip adress type in the xbox ip adress here i think mine is is 192.168.1.200 also subnetmask is 255.255.255.0 also default gateway as 192.168.1.203 then go into ftp open it goto site then sute manager then click new site type xboxthen type in your xboxs ip adress in the adress bar in user name and password type xbox then click connect should connect make sure firewall allows you to connect from ftp myself i just turn the firewall off hope this helps you the steps i said are from memory as i dont have xbox at hand ive only ftp one of my xboxs games so far the game was 2.4 gbs and it took me about 25 mins im using broadband so is quick to ftpwhos your isp mine is talktalk
