UK O2 iPhone Unlocked - Alternative Sim

    I have an iPhone 3GS on the UK O2 network.

    O2 have recently unlocked the unit for me and sent an SMS confirming.

    I have place my French Orange sim in the unit and I get "Invalid Sim"

    What do I need to do to get the unit to work with this sim card ?

    Sorted out:

    O2 now are unlocking contracted iPhones free of charge.

    Call 202 from your O2 iPhone and ask them to do it.

    They will send an SMS a few days later confirming unlocked.

    Then you need to:

    Back up via iTunes (Right Click on the unit on iTunes)

    Restore via iTunes (Main iTunes window - Not with the back up)

    Restore Back Up via iTunes (Right Click on the unit on iTunes)

    Test with an alternative sim card.

    Bingo !
