    Hi there,

I tried your instructions and it works great - I can dump the UMD and successfully create the ISOs on either my hard drive or the memory stick. It completes, tells me what the final size is, etc., but when I go to start the game on the PSP, it tells me "the game could not be started (80010002)." I have confirmed that the dumped ISO resides in the root ISO folder on the PSP, where it is supposed to reside.

    I am running 3.03OE-C.

I have tried this with multiple UMD games that I own (Untold Legends, Ape Escape).

    Any help would be appreciated.

Try disabling the NO-UMD in the recovery. and also have any umd inserted when playing other game from ms.

OK... retarded noob question. I followed the instructions to the best of my ability but I cannot seem to get the game to dump through the USB.

The usbhostfs_pc.exe does not read the PSP at all although the LIBUSB INI file creator does.

    Here what I have...
    3.40 OE-A

The UMD dumper files in the \PSP\GAME150 directory.
The USB host software is located in C:\usbhostfs_pc.

It just won't work. Too bad because it sucks transferring my UMD's off my memory sticks all the time.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

I had the same error problem that you had. The way i fixed it was by putting a umd into the psp. Suchas the demo disc and it will run the game.
But Iv got 3.4 oe-A on my psp. Well hope it helps you!

Time for you to update....3.52-4 m33 can dump iso's by default via the vsh menu. I would recommend 3.71 m33 but until DAX releases the 1.50 kernel plugin you are pretty limited.

Just press the home button while on the xmb, change usb device to umd disc, then activate a normal usb connection and dump the umd.

OMG I've spent an hour with this thing and still no luck. Great tut but for some screwed up reason nothing works as its supposed to (which always seems to happen with me). I'm running 3.4 oe and am just running into 1 problem after another. Anyone on right now that can jump on MSN or a chatroom and help me out here please (saves 50 billion posts trying to explain this to a total noob).

    I'll try back tomorrow

OK worked it out myself. Man what a mission.
Big Thanks to all you guys for the different tutorials and help in these posts.

Hey! Thanks for the great tutorial but I'm in a little trouble.

    I have a PSP Slim running 3.71 M33-4.

I followed all the steps and put the files in their corresponding folders but still no luck.

When I run the Application it says this game could not be started.

    PSP->GAME

    What could be the problem??

For those of you with a 3.71 M33-4 firmware it is very easy to dump the UMD .iso to your computer
(The Menu with system, Photo, Music ext is the XMB)

    1) goto the xmb
    2) press SELECT
3)Change the USB DEVICE to UMD Disc (using the arrows)
4)Select Exit, or press SELECT again
    5)goto the system menu
    6)Select USB Connection

instead of the files on your memory stick showing up as a removable drive, the UMD Disc will, you can then Drag and Drop the file where ever you want on your computer
The only thing you cant do is put files onto the UMD Disc since it is read-only

When I try to run the dumper on my psp I get the message 'This game cannot be started. The data is corrupted.' I have firmware v3.90.
