omg i feel like an idiot i found out my problem when i was trying this thing out again

on the 2nd time throught i noticed you have to make an ISO folder INSIDE the usbhostfs_pc folder

on my first time through i thought since I already have the ISO folder on another location it will be okay.

it works thanks everyone! sorry for trouble ><

    good tut btw

Hmm it seems the problem has already been fixed. Kyin01 realise he created the ISO folder in the wrong place which is y he kept on getting an error msg.

Just wanted to thank hodgins91 for this tutorial! I am a newbie to the PSP and have played a few games on ISO. On the weekend I bought NHL 07 and cant stand the incredibly slow load times of running off the UMD!

So I found this tutorial, read through it slowly and carefully and can now say I have an ISO of my NHL 97 that I can run at much quicker loading speeds!

Thanks again for the great tutorial!

Hiya, im a bigtime noob here, is there anyway to tell that the PSP is actually doing something and dumping my UMD because it says "Dumping UMD..." on my PSP and it also says "Device Connected" on my PC.

    Thanks

    Hi.

It should say dumping umd and also say how many sectors is being dumped out of the total number of sectors.

You could go to the ISO folder on your PC that you created and check if there is a file called MYUMD being created in that folder. If you see it then it means your psp is dumping the UMD.

Check it every 10 secs and the size of the MYUMD file should increase.

    Ok hope it helps out.

I had that same error. I was trying to save just simply as psp b/c the file type was already .inf. Try saving as "psp.inf" instead of just "psp" if you haven't already. That worked for me! Also, if you haven't, I would recommend using the kit Hodgins uploaded. I couldn't get this stupid daxdumper to work for like 5 months. I just gave up on it after trying for so long. Then, I tried the kit Hodgins uploaded and it had a file in it I never even knew I needed. So, it has EVERYTHING and WILL WORK if you follow the directions precisely.

If you mess up I can help you uninstall the connection so it will allow you to start all over again from start. You have to get it connected though psp type b in order to uninstall it,should make a sound when it connects.Once you get it connected you can go into control panel and click on system and then look under hardware. In hardware it should have an option called device manager, click on it to get in there. Then just search for psp type b and click uninstall. Then turn off your computer and disconnect the usb transfer cable and start it back up,and follow the walkthrough again.Once you get to the part where it says plug in the usb transfer cable,it should say windows has found a new device(it should give you the chance to repeat this step as many times as you want). When I read through the guide there was no mention of this in there, but should give the chance to repeat the process as many times needed to get it to work on the same usb port you want to use.

@ kanthos if it says game data is corrupt it means you are not on 1.5 firmware

this tool is great when it gets going ask guano lol, but its one pain in the ass to get going.
