I have used DVD Shrink for several months without any real problems, but have just recently had issues when backing up Escape From Witch Mountain.

I am getting the following error: DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Programming error - exception occurred.

I have pinpointed the files that are causing the problem and they are the stills found on the DVD (pictures, production notes, etc.).

I have also noticed that when in the Re-Author mode, these still files are all listed separately, instead of being grouped into a larger file. The size of files are very small, ranging from 0.03MB to 0.11MB. I have not seen this on other DVDs I have backed up. Could this be causing the problem?

I was able to backup the main feature and other parts of the DVD, but would like to be able to get the stills as well. I am attempting to backup the main movie on one DVD and the extras on another to try and maintain the quality of the source DVD.

I have tried several other methods for backing up these stills in the last 24 hours, including burning directly from Nero and using DVD Decrypter, but this has not worked.

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

have you not tried getting the entire disc to hard disc using Decrypter ?

I was able to backup the entire DVD to my hard drive using DVD Decrypter, but when trying to burn the files from the hard drive to DVD using DVD Shrink (and Nero), I get the same error message when going through the encoding process. I don't know of a way to burn from the hard drive through DVD Shrink without having to go through the encoding process again. Is that possible?

It appears I can only backup the entire DVD if burning through DVD Decrypter (which would kill the picture quality). I was able to backup the files using Nero directly, but the files were out of order on the final burned DVD and did not break at the correct places.

    Thanks!
