I can't seem to backup a certain Dvd of mine. I have a kyphermedia Dvd Burner and Sony dvd+r media. Now i recently just switched from memorex and they also at times gave me this problem. But this particular dvd backup is worse.

I kept getting disk redundency cycle with dvd decrypter, which I get on almost every backup, so I switch to Clone DvD, and then it burned fine. But this dvd, wont burn with Clone Dvd, or Decrypter. Clone DvD gives me Error at 0%, sayis possiable bad media (i have tried 6 dvd's). Dvd Decrypter seems to give me the disk redundency cycle at random ponits while burning (4 dvd's this way).

I deleted the Iso image, rebacked up, tried again both ways and still failed. Any Idea on what I can do. The dvd plays fine, scratch free and everything.

CRC errors usually mean that the disc is scratched, dirty, or it's just plain defective. If you get these errors while ripping, it's usually the disc's fault but on some movies it's copy protection. Clean the disc so it's free of any smudges and fingerprints and if the disc is scratched up check out ScubaPete's guide (link is in my sig) for where he talks about how to rip those hard to rip dvds with dvd decrypter. If the disc looks clean, make sure you have the latest version of DVD Decrypter (3.5.4) or use anydvd (21-day free trial), which runs in the background and you don't even notice it running except the little fox in the taskbar (next to your clock).

If you're getting this error while burning, that means you need better blank discs. They might be dirty or smudged but usually it's because they're just poor quality.

I only get the CyC on Dvd Decrypter. When I do, Clone Dvd Burns it fine. The Dvd is like new, and ive tried cleaning and, and will again. As for poor quality, what is better recommended, sony I thought was good.

    Rydis,
Try Verbatim, Taiyo Yudens, Maxell. D/L DVDinfoPro (free) and it will tell you who the real manuf. of the disk is

    sounds good.

As far as Decrypter being the only program you're getting these errors in, maybe the discs are borderline being good or bad?? Just guessing here really. I don't have a sound explanation for that one.

Rydis make sure your firmware is up to date this can aid in disk recognition. As for kyphermedia, it is a squizzle states borderline, I used it and it only worked 50% two of my burners hated it and my Lite-on burned it. If you are looking for Verbatim usually BestBuy carries it, also WalMart.

khypermedia has been nothing but evil to me. Out of 20 discs I got 20 coasters. Burner wouldn't even spit them back out without me shuttin the computer off and forcing the drive open

I'd recommend better media. Go to Best Buy or Circuit City and get some Verbatum or buy some Taiyo Yuden online.
