"Unable to Flash Firmware"

    I have a Lite-On SHW-1635SX, and I have been trying to flash new firmware to it for about a week. I always get the same message, no matter what I try, "Unable to Flash Firmware." I am trying to upgrade from YSOQ to YSOZ, what should I do?

    you have the latest firmware how are you trying to flash the burner
    also where did you download the firmware from?

    I have tried flashing from desktop, and from safe mode, from the desktop. I used the one from Lite-On's website.

    try downloading the firmware again and before you flash make sure there is no discs in your drive

    Done this several times. I mean like 10. Still no luck

    Hi! Try this site cdfreaks.com, they are really great at firmware and binflashing. Just scroll down in their forums and see section that lists a number of burners, there is one for lite-on. Good Luck.
