unable to flash starview 3 the box super

    i have purchased a starview 3 box i have done everything in the idownload instructions to get the software on to it i get right through to the part were it askes you to choose a com port and download onto box i am using a usb to rs323null modem cable to connect from my laptop to the box but when i click download nothing happens it just freezes i have my box connected to laptop please help its driving me nuts ?

    Always problems with laptops cd1 do you no anyone with a pc with a serial port on it?

    i managed to get it working on my brothers pc its working ok but im not getting itv1 and some other channels cheers for the advice
