Hi guys got a bit of a computer proble that i cant seem to solve.

A friend has asked me to have a look at his computer for him because he has what seems like virus etc. When i have these problems i usually run spybot ad aware hijack this and avg anti virus which sorts out the problem. i have all these programs on my memory stick but when i put my stick into the computer and try and open the files it wont let me open any of them it just flashes up with the install screen then goes off.

I cant got go on the web to install them that way because the viruses are stopping me opening the web pages, and my programs on the memory stick are all ok because i have used them loads of times on other computers!

it is like there is something wrong with the installer because it wont let me install anything.

has anyone got any ideas bcause im totally confused !!! thanks

This is not the right forum, I will ask that you be transferred to the virus and spyware thread.
Untill then have you tried running these programs in safe mode?

You need to be more specific about what happened to your friends computer when it was infected. It sounds like that little nasty self installing trojan dropper by its behavoir when you try to install another program. It is a scam. there have been quite a few recently, and some have been ordered to stop, and arrested. what it looks like is this program that starts to self install, and tells you you have tons of trojons in your computer along with what ever else they feel like scaring you with at the time. The only program i managed to run while this was going on was windows defender. I couldn't even install it at the microsoft site. I had to save it to documents, and install from there. Oh the program that tries to self install is called whatever?? anti virus, and it trys to urge you to buy that program right now for usually around 50 dollars for a one time use. That is the scam part about it. Good luck.
    Regards
