I downloaded a set of 10 .avi files and want to join them so I can watch them. It states they must be joined for the files to function. They are in the format .avi.001 .avi.002 ect ect to .avi.010 I have tried multiple tools for joining them, none seem to work. The first file will play in VLC, none of the others will work. When I open the file in Virtual dub, the first file will play, as I click to append the second file, it gives me the error, "Invalid AVI File: Not in RIFF Format". This may or may not make a difference but the only two files that show up are the first and the second which in an attempt to make things work, I went in and retyped the file extensions and now they are recognized by VLC. I had also clipped the numbering at one point. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
If they are not RIFF format, they may be corrupted. Can you open each one individually in VirtualDub - if not try AviDemux.
