I've got a Xvid movie which contains 3 languages on it. When I try to play it on Window Media Player, the whole thing doesn't play (Video and Audio). I'd try it on Divx Player, and the video works, the sounds doesn't. I was wondering if I am missing some code or something. I used Gspot to check the movie file, it saids I got every necessary code installed. Anyone know anyway I could play it? Or is it possible to use any software to 'rip' a particular track from the movie? Sorry for my bad english, any help would be greatly appreciate.
Uninstall all your codecs. Divx Xvid ect., and install the k-lite codec. It has everything you will need. Get it here... http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_players/k-lite_mega_codec_pack.cfm
I had tried after I installed the K-Lite Codec Pack This is the result: Media Player Classic --> No images and sounds :< Window Media Player --> No sounds, Images go really-really slow I used GSpot and it saids I got no missing codec, so.... Would that be a problem relate to the 'multi-audio tracks' ?
MPC has built in support for multiple audio tracks, as well as splitters for most popular containers. I really wouldn't recommend codec packs. It's like carpet bombing, you probably don't need all the crap that they install even if it does get that one file to play. This is an avi? What audio does it use? You could try mplayer (use -alang eng/ger/jap/etc. or -aid #) or VLC. They both use internal decoders/splitters. If it plays with them, then you have a problem with your installed direct show filters.
celtic_d, Thats why you only install what codecs you need! Personally, I uninstalled all codecs and just did a general install. It fixed many of my problems. Carpet bombing? Never heard it put like that before! LOL.
