    Good Afternoon,
I am fairly new at this dvd burning thing. I've been using Nero to burn my dvds. My son came to me with his home movie from his digi cam. I was able to edit it and save it but it won't burn. I keep getting this message:
"Unable to prepare data for recording: Failed to get disc content."
No One seems to know what this means amongst my cicle of friends, can someone PLEASE help me...Don't want to let my son down ya know.

So is the movie on the harddisk, and what format (e.g. avi? mpeg?) is it in?

    Hi...thanks for responding Scf_au,
Yeah it's on the drive. Not an Avi. Nero appeared to have put it as, a NeroVision Document ( nvc. ) file. Which everyone I asked never heard of. Can U help?....Thanks

.nvc stands for 'Nero Vision Express Project' file which contains details of a completed or uncompleted Nero burning task. In essence, if you have saved a completed or uncompleted Nero burning task as a .nvc project, then by opening the .nvc file, you don't have to do things all over again. The .nvc file would locate the original video files and automatically take you to where the burning task ended at the last save point. In other words, if you have changed the parameters of the set up since saving the project (e.g. location of original video files), then opening the .nvc would result in an error. This probably was what had happened.
You may try to begin not with the .nrc, but with the original video files and do the burning all over again to see if that would solve the problem.
    Good luck!

    Thanks Again scf_au...
I believe I understand, although I attempted to burn immediately after editing the video. My son and I thought it would be kewl to add the transitions and use the credit generator in certain scenes.
The files weren't moved..wait. When we started, we started from camera to cdrw. I copied the files to folder (or should I say Nero prompted me for some, but they too were saved in said folder). Everything from that point was done within Nero, straight to burn process...
I will try playing with the original video files again, atleast that way I'll know if this can be burnt at all....Right?
Thanks for your time and ALL your help....will let you know what haps.
