I burned a Data DVD using an external dvd drive HPdvd 940 and Nero5 software. Before sending this DVD off to another PC, I removed it from the external DVD drive and inserted into my internal DVD/CD drive and was able to successfully open up the documents without using Nero. (just used normal open on Windows cmd for my CD drive.)

When my boss received the DVD I sent, he said he is getting 'Insert DVD into Drive D' message when trying to open up this DVD. Is this a problem with his PC, his DVD drive, or my burned DVD?

I'm new to DVD burning and I've heard that sometimes Nero can get rather particular about opening up burned info. Please help. Thanks.

Could be disk compatibility just because it works on your pc doesn’t mean its going to work on every ones what is the disk DVD+ or DVD- does your friends DVD rom in his computer read all formats I take it you do finalise the disk might just be the disk being poor quality what brand is it?

The DVD is DVD + RW MAXELL

I guess I'll have to find out about my boss's DVD drive to see what all formats it reads... This is going to be a painful process, I just know!

Anything else you can advise would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If you can find out what make his DVD rom and model number is just go to the manufactures web site tell you there what it can read or write if you bosses computer has Nero installed just select Nero burning rom across the top select choose recorder tell you there as well

I've sent him an email and am awaiting his reply. I know his burning software is NOT Nero. I just don't know what it is!

    Thanks and I'll be back!
