Is it possible to play any extensions in a rar file on a psp without first uncompressing them. If there is a program that allows that it'd be nice so I could play more of my cso and other files like eboot on my 1gb. Any other ways to save space is more than welcome.

A CSO is already compressed, trying to compress it again shouldnt make it any smaller anyway.
    But no, its not possible.

you can use irshell this will let you play zipped games it does not work for iso or cso files but you could zip n64,sega ,or nes roms to save some space and still access them irshell will open any rar it just cant load a psx game or iso/cso files

they are still releasing patches and updates to make it compatible with the latest cfw ahman says he is retired but there are lots of fans that seem to keep it alive at irshell.org

yea, i couldnt get it to work propertly on 3.90, after using the patches n stuff, but i didnt spend time messing with it. They did say some things are broken in 3.90. :( But whatever, i dont care too much about it.
    thx for the info though.

to be honest the compression in .cso format is pretty close to .zip or .rar format - the point being it is compressed iso :)

Yes off course but imagine if you could read rar or zip cso on an homebrew or something. That'd be sick. I'm on 3.80 m33-4 is it worth it to go to 3.9 m33 ?

No big difference between firmwares, no need to update, unless u have a game that requires 3.90 to play.
