Hello , i have a Dell Studio laptop with the Intel T5750 CPU , operating at 2ghz. How can i make it underclock in real time according to the system load , to save battery life ?
Can you do it by software or with settings in the bios ?

Most Dell and other commercial machines, laptops especially, have a locked BIOS that keeps you from overclocking which at the same time keeps you from underclocking.
Doesnt it have a power saver option? Something that doesnt pump full power to the monitor? An energy saver option? Most do.

T5750 has the SpeedStep technology , which means it can underclock in real time depending on the cpu load . I found a program Speedswitch XP which can lower the frequency , seems to do the job but..can i check with another program ?
Also , this improves battery right ?
