(unique problem)....no audio in windows mplayer

    my mplayer plays only midis,but when i try to play mp3s,wavs there is no audio.I tried shifting my sound card to differnet slots,but still get the error message "no audio hardware available or hardware isnt responding".Im using mplayer 6.4 and creative sound card....what could be the problem?????

    hi i had this porb once along time ago with a creative card but my prob happened after i installed plus for xp. could this be your prob?

    actually im running win95a,166mhz system.It is the most basic computer around,and its odd that i have this problem.As i said it possibly isnt a hrdware problem,as i can play midis,and the startup wav of win95 does play.....so i dont know what could it be....
