I get this weird error message from time to time, and my system scans keep coming up clean. Using Avira Avtivir (free), AVG (both as secondaries) and Spyware Terminator / Clam AV as main. Scanned with Spybot also... and nothing.
This is the error that pops up.

    Any clue guys?
EDIT: Figured I'd post a HijackThis log.

    Hey ahiah9

I'm sorry, but I do not have an answer for you. I don't think anyone does though... checked it up on google, and so far no one has a good solution, even though installing a codec for this victim, who had the same error when opening avi files, worked.

Perhaps we can limit this down. When does this error occur? After you open any specific files or folders?

Also, please install service pack 3 through microsoft updates. This might help, as I haven't seen a computer with service pack 3 that has the same error.

Here are some websites to which you can try the solutions to:

    Best Regards :D

Well, I havent gotten back with you in a couple of days. Been busy with work. Thanks for your help guys. Not always, but a lot of the time I get the error when playing or unraring avi's. So I assume it is a codec issue. I use ffdshow instead of codec packs, so I'll play around with the settings and see what I get. At least I know its not a major error or some sort of malware. I'd still like to get it sorted though, as it keeps crashing exlorer when it happens. So if I come up with anything I'll post back. Thanks again.
