    Good day,

I have used DVD Shrink/Nero for years and they've been great to me. I have run into an error while trying to burn the last disc of season 2 of The Wire. I ripped all 5 discs to my hard drive using Shrink. I open Shrink and click on Open Files. I select the folder that contains the 27 video/ts files. It goes through that process just fine and then it goes to burn and I get this error log:

    Hi tuneman62,

    Here:
    ********************************************************
    9:47:13 AM #4 NEROAPI 7 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3095
    Error:\nCannot connect TRF.
    ********************************************************

This error has been associated with nero's latest version 6.6.1.4, this version will not function when used with DVDshrink.

Write down your nero serial# and then uninstall version 6.6.1.4 from your system using the general cleantool found here:

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/General_CleanTool.html

Next, download and install version 6.6.0.18 from the links provided, re-enter the serial# and you're good to go.

    nero 6.6.0.18 updates:
    Package 1
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2

Updates are meant to fix/correct problems, but sometimes in the process they can also create new ones. I don't think this issue will be fixed (just my feeling on it??), it looks like they have moved on with nero7.

You can still use nero6 version 6.6.1.4 if you choose, you just can't use it to autoburn with shrink, you'll have to manually burn your video files to disk.

Here's a guide or two if you're interested:

How do you know all of this man? Years of experience I suppose. I was looking at buying a book that could help me out with video/music encoding, burning, editing etc... Do you know of any good titles?

Years of experience, plus degrees in electrical engineering and software design help to. There's still much I don't know, so I'm still learning to.

Sorry, can't help with the books. You could try a local book store or read the posts here as much as possible, you'll be surprised at what you can picup/learn.
