I noticed in the Settings/System option of Unleash X, there is a "Default Backup Folder" option, is this a ESR (Emergency System Restore) for softmodded users?
thats where everything is back-ed up when you installed the softmod..your eeprom ect...you need to ftp to that folder and get your eeprom, and i would also copy my E and C Drive to your pc if you havent already...
No, I know what that's all about, I have my EEPROM backed up, my MS Dash running through PPF, and everything from my former Xbox is backed up. I am asking what the option is for, I've checked the Unleash X FAQs all over the net and I can't find anything that even mentions it. lol.
to tell the truth i dont know exactly, but it really isnt that important because u have backed everything up already....
There are times where backups don't mean anything, or having the backed up files that is. When my friend accidentally formatted his C drive(Thank God they took that option out of UX), it killed the ability to not only read backup games, but retail games. So there was no way to re-softmod it without sending it in to someone to restore to factory status. If this new feature is a way of getting around that, then it means that it could possibly be a ESR thing, and possibly having the 24 Hour Restoring period, that means that not even a Softmodded Xbox screw up unless they deleted their backup files. Is UnleashX on this site? Cause maybe someone could PM him and ask him what it's for. I'd go to X-S, but I was banned from there for just mentioning Torrents. lol. It wasn't anything like DLing backups or anything.
The easiest way to fix a failed soft mod is to install a mod chip. No need to send it off or anything. And the idea behind making a back-up is that in the off chance that the hard drive fails, you'll still have your EEPROM and game saves. As long as the back-up is on a PC hard drive that is... I don't use UnleashX as I prefer XBMC360, so I don't know the specifics of that feature you're referring to.
Dude what are you talking about,if you have your Eeprom along with your C and E Drive and you Mess up your Xbox HD you can just Use XboxHDM and Rebuild the HD...thats why i said if you have your eeprom back-ed up then your cool....
That's true, but how many people that resort to Softmodding know how to unlock/remove/rebuild their HDs?
