Unlock and jailbreak iPhone 3G recently upgraded to 3.1.2 and now locked

    I had an unlocked phone until yesterday when I tried to upgrade it to the new 3.1.2 firmware. Now it is locked again, how can unlock it?

    I have looked on several places online + forums etc but seems that I need to wait until a new unlocking program is devised?...

    Please help me - I am phoneless over the holiday :(

    download one of guessswh0's custom ISPW's and restore your phone with it. it should jailbreak it then. if you want to unlock it, you will probably have to use ultrasnow i believe.

    however, if you are with ATT just get the non-activated FW as you will activate the phone when you put it back in itunes. if you arent with ATT get the preactivated FW and it will activate the phone for you.

    hi there,

    thank you - I had a look on google too. sory about that.
    So now I uploaded guesswho's jailbreak for 3G from his website
    http://www.stateofthesceneaddress.com/2009/10/jailbreak-all-iphones-

    with-3-1-2-firmware/- I up;paded the activated one, as I don't have AT&T (I am on a UK simcard with a european hone) so now how do I put this on my iphone? it is not recognised by itunes -SIM not valid- and won't respond -emergency call message- so how can I do it?

    when you have the phone hooked up in itunes, go to the phone page of it. then shift+restore your phone. this will allow you to select the custom ISPW. then let it do its thing. and it should restore it with the hacked firmware.

    if for some reason it does jailbreak it, then as a last resort you could try blackra1n.

    Hi there,

    i did it all will blackra1n in the end and it worked a treat! Is there a reason why I should only have used it as a last resort? I hope it's a good alternative to cydia etc..

    anyway, wabashman, thanks for your help, I couldn't have done it without you!

    theres nothing wrong with blackra1n, i just dont like it as a first attempt tool. but glad you got it working. have fun with it man.
