After that you will need a cable thing-a-me-jiggy to unlock it. It will still work on your Network so no big loss. The unlock code for the 6230i worked no problems, but the 6820 didn't, came up with "Code Restriction".

Entered the code provided in your first reply, and the code in your second reply, both with no sim card in the phone. Got "Code Error" the second time. Haven't repeated any code.
deannawol The first code gave a message "Code Restriction" and the second code gave a message "Code Error". A wrong code would give "Code Error". Do me a fav. Put the non Metior sim in it and turn it on and tell if you see UNDO. It mtght be one of those odd phoned. Do not put in any code yet. Gone to do some research. JG
