unlock code: nokia 6010

    I have a Nokia 6010 from my previous AT&T service(Lincoln,NEBRASKA). i switched to cingular and got a new phone. I would like to unlock it.

    IMEI # : 067034392066434212

    should i remove the SIM card before punching in the codes?

    Also I have on emore question. I am sending it to India to my sister and was wondering whether they can buy a sim card from other service provider there and use it on this phone aftre it is unlocked or this phone will not work outside US.
