Joegons, you seem to be the person to ask. Would you know how to unlock my Nokia 1600 from Argentina (network Movistar)? I'll be traveling to France and I'd like to use it there if I can. Nokia:1600 IMEI:010733002105033 Network:Movistar Country:AR Thanks a lot for your help.
m97008565 [bold]Please read ALL of the instructions below before you start.See the "Note:If nothing happens." below.[/bold] Did you check with IMEI: *#06# ,Firmware Version: *#0000# . Nokia:1600 IMEI:010733002105033 Network:Movistar Country:Argentina [bold]Is this correct?[/bold] If you know the risks, try this [bold]ONCE and ONLY ONCE[/bold] and let us know if it works. You have only 3 to 5 tries and then it will be hard locked. After that you will need a cable thing-a-me-jiggy to unlock it. It will still work on your Network so no big loss. #pw+395776315254467+7# Remove sim first, power on the phone. Dear Joe, I'm in France with my recently unlocked Nokia 1600. Even though my phone will now accept any SIM card, it cannot find any network. Any way I try it, whether automatically or manually, it's the same: I keep on getting the "No Netwok Found" message. Any idea why this is? Thanks for your help.
My Nokia 1600 is a GSM 850/1900. In France they seem to be using GSM 900/1800. Any way I could still be able to use my Nokia 1600 in France? Thanks again.
m97008565 I did some checking and Movisrar is on 1900. France is on 900/1800Mhz. The 1600 is a duel band and yours will be 850/1900Mhz. I am told it might be possible but I think it will be cheaper and better to get a local phone in France. All of Europe and most of the world is 900/1800. Sorry, JG
