Hello, I need help to unlock Nokia 1600. IMEI: 3583 7000 6660 422 Country: Australia Network: Telstra Many thanks in advance
Hi cielo45, Australian mobiles are extremely difficult to unlock. Do you happen to know the MMC+MNC code for Telstra? as we are trying to find a solution to this problem with Australian mobiles not unlocking by our codes. I will give you just one code to try. [bold]Only try the codes once and once only!!![/bold] Please remember you only get 3-5 attempts before your mobile becomes hardlocked. If you have already tried different codes before mine your mobile could already be hardlocked. If it is hardlocked you will get one the following messages Can Not Undo Restriction / Not Allowed If you mobile is hardlocked the only way to unlock it is by taking/sending it to a professional unlocker. Please make sure the information you give is correct before typing in the codes. Here is your code:#pw+233445051041335+7# [bold]If the mobile gives no response/no message then do the following[/bold] Insert a non accepted sim, press the undo button, a box should appear saying enter restriction code, enter the code given and press ok Remove sim first, power on the phone. After the phone boots up, press # Press * 3 times fast for (p) Press * 4 times fast for (w) Press * 2 times fast for (+) Verify code before pressing the last #. "Phone restrictions off", it's unlocked!
Hi pazzini, Attempted that code, but didn't succeed. I've asked about MMC + MNC codes for Telstra, but no luck so far. But I do now know the handset is locked to the Vodafone network, not Telstra. cheers, cielo45
BTW - noticed this the vodafone site: http://unlock.vodafone.com.au/HL/jsp/UnlockRequest.jsp Handset Unlocking Vodafone can only unlock phones purchased from a Vodafone outlet in Australia In order to unlock your handset please enter your mobile and IMEI numbers in the fields below. To find your IMEI press *#06# on your handset. The first 15 digits are your IMEI number. If you have already requested an unlock code please enter your IMEI number as well as the security code. "Due to technical issues we are currently unable to generate unlock codes for Nokia 1600. We will be able to provide these codes within the next few days, so please check back here. We ask you not to contact customer care or visit a store for assistance, since the issue affects them as well. Please do not enter a previously supplied unlock code or attempt to guess your unlock code as three wrong attempts will disable your handset."
cielo45, That makes a huge difference as each code is unique and the Network is a key part of the calculation. If you get a code from Vodafone and it works or not, that seems to be your best option, would you let us know the code please. We may be able to extract some information from it. I do not think it would be a good idea for you to publish your phone number on the Forum. Please let us know what you decide. JG
