I need to get my Nokia 1600 working on O2 Ireland. IMEI is 010767/00/795583/6 It is locked to NET 10 in Georgia USA. I get a "SIM not valid" message when I key my code in. No wasy around this! Anyone please help me. Donal
First, that phone will not work in Ireland. Wrong Frequency. Second, TRACFONE and NET 10 We cannot/do not unlock phones on Tracfone or Net 10 network. Unlike a normal phone/Network, the “minutes” credit is stored within the phone itself, by the original programming. Time tank. To get the phone unlocked you will have to reprogram/Flash the phone with OEM software then unlock it. (at the same time) After this has been done, Tracfone / Net 10 will no longer work with the phone.
Thanks for that information. I was sure I had seen Nokia 1600s working here in Ireland. Could you tell me please how I can access that OEM software you mentioned in order to use my O2 SIM card on this 1600 Nokia phone? great stuff, Donal
You cannot use that phone in Ireland or Europe or Asia etc. There is no way to make it work. It is not the same as the local ones in Ireland. To flash the phone you need about 150 pounds worth of euqipment and it still will not work. Wrong frequency. US phones use 850/1900 Mhz and you need 900/1800 Mhz.
