We have so much confusion here with people posting all over the place, that's why codes get mixed up and you may get worng codes.

Heres the story... i lived in connecticut then moved to upstate new york for college while here the phone was working perfectly fine until one day it just said restricted..so then i contacted u and you gave me the code that worked and unrestricted it and i was able to get on my phone but i had no service what soever so then i tried cleaning it with a dry cotton cloth turned it back on and still nothing.. so if there is in fact anything u can suggest please tell me.

Do you have a different sim other than the Cingular sim?

no unfortunately not im all by myself here and im pretty far from anyone i know, but i can ask a neighbor to borrow theres if it'll work. the thing that bothers me tho is i got this new phone 2 months before i left and now this .. and i just tried putting the code in again and now its saying Phone Wasn't restricted then it said smartchip rejected and i have no idea what that means or what i should do.

It almost sounds like you are having a sim card problem and I would take it to Cingular and tell them to fix the problem or you will switch to T-Mobile.

I'm sure they'll be happy to help.
