    thank you very much for your time and help.

    if i followed the instructions as directed and got a 'code error' message, would that suggest that the phone is already unlocked or that there is a problem with the code?

    i have had several phones from O2 in the past and i've never needed to unlock them in order to use sim cards from other networks.

    Try a diferent sim card (not 02).
