Yes you can, scout around for a "BIOS flash". That'll see you unlocking your pipelines, but voiding your warranty, so be careful!
No problem. Not having performed the operation I wouldn't know where to look, but once you find one, all you need to do is back up the old version, then follow the instructions to execute it (It's not complicated) and you should be good for more pipelines!
