Try this code only once. We're still testing to see what works. Enter carefully. I expect "Code Error" from this code also but it's worth a shot. #pw+753 010 072 112 424+7#
now it says "not allowed" does this mean from now on its impossible to onlock the phone because a hardlock is activated?
No, this is common with the 2310. I have been researching this model and it seems that the only way to unlock will be by downgrading the firmware to the 1600 which will cause you to lose the radio function but it will then be able to be unlocked. All of this will have to be done directly by a professional that knows what he's doing. You will be having the phone flashed and unlocked and downgraded but only losing the radio.
did anybody successfull unlock a 2310 yet?? if it wont work i think the best way is to resell it on ebay. i only bought it because of its good price.
success was reported here: http://nokiafree.org/forums/showpost.php?p=389898&postcount=8 i've tried to deduce the "box serial" from the codes given there, but didn't succeed
You never will have success with these codes because they are provider related only, just like the BB5 models. These codes come straight from Nokia and were for the Australia area also which would be completely different from where you are. You also could call your provider and request for the code but it would be a lot more hassle free to just take it and have it done.
the way i understand it is that they use the same algo to calculate the codes from: imei, mcc+mnc, asic and boxserial since imei, mmc+mnc, asic are fixed i thought i could derive boxserial from these aussi codes ... for those who wonder what the hell i'm talking about, here is a simple explanation: http://nokiafree.org/forums/t74498/s.html
We know how to derive box codes from codes given to see what works but all of these will be different and the phone can not be unlocked by code other than from Nokia and the network.
As I stated above 2 posts, it would be impossible to figure it out because each one is unique just as the BB5 model codes that have been given by Vodafone in the UK. None are the same and it can't be figured out with what we have. This is why the phone has to be flashed and brought down to the 1600 and losing the radio just to get it to unlock. Still after the flashing, it can't be unlocked with codes by any normal unlocker but with codes directly from Nokia.
then it's prolly better to not give codes for 2310 in this forum anymore and add it to the list of unlockable phones
I agree!! I didn't start my research until this post got started because I was tired of requests for it but nothing being verified to be unlockied. During this request, I found out everything I needed to know about this model and I won't be touching it again. I now feel that it is also in the BB5 family somewhere but not quite as strong since the firmware can be downgraded to unlock it with hardware.
