I have done as suggested. At the end I did recieve correct message "Phone restrictions off" but when I put in the other SIM then it says SIM invalid.

    Pls suggest what to do.

What country are you in now and what network are you trying to use in the phone?

I am in Netherlands only (and trying to unlock Vodafone Netherlands). After unlocking I am trying to use T-Mobile SIM in this.

tmobile gsm in netherlands operates on : GSM 1800

vodafone netherlands operates on: GSM 900/1800

    nokia 1600 operates on: E900/1800

Technically you should be fine and be able to use the phone on both networks.

Is your simcard activated on Tmobile?

SIM is active as I am using it in the other phone also. In the phone I unlocked after giving PIN it says SIM Invalid whereas in the other it does not give any message.

You will have to do away with the pin code stuff because the unlocked phone is not expecting a sim to be in there that has a pin set. Sounds stupid but it's true even though you're entering the pin code. How you clear the pin, I don't know but it's not going to appear valid until you have a sim with no pin# associated with it.

Try setting the Pin back to the default 12345 on th phone that it works on and then try it on the unlocked phone.

I tried by putting a SIM with no PIN attached to it, but it still says, SIM not valid.
Should I try the procedure for unlocking again ?
    Is it hard locked now?

    khuranam,
I do not know what the problem is.
If the phone is UNLOCKED you can not lock it or do any harm by entering codes.
Try this code and tell me what message the phone gives you.
[bold]Please read ALL of the instructions below before you start.See the "Note:If nothing happens." below.[/bold]

Did you check with IMEI: *#06# ,Firmware Version: *#0000# .

    Nokia:1600
    IMEI:351898011129766
    Network:Vodafone
    Country:Netherlands

    [bold]Is this correct?[/bold]

If you know the risks, try this [bold]ONCE and ONLY ONCE[/bold] and let us know if it works. You have only 3 to 5 tries and then it will be hard locked. After that you will need a cable thing-a-me-jiggy to unlock it. It will still work on your Network so no big loss.

    #pw+157544671472335+7#

Remove sim first, power on the phone.
After the phone boots up, press #
    Press * 3 times fast for (p) \
Press * 4 times fast for (w) IMPORTANT
    Press * 2 times fast for (+) /
and the rest of the code---

    [bold]IMPORTANT!![/bold]
Verify code before pressing the last #.
Pay attention. You only heve about two seconds.

[bold]Note:If nothing happens.[/bold] Some Phones require that you to insert a non accepted sim, you will see "phone restricted", press UNDO option and enter the code in the restriction box and press ENTER.

    "Phone restrictions off", it's unlocked.
"Error code" wrong code.[bold]STOP[/bold] tell me.
"Not allowed" or "Can Not Undo Restriction" it's hard locked. Used up all your free tries!!

[bold]DO let us know if this works.[/bold]
Help us provide a better service.
