I got this Nokia phone that had a Cingular Service in NC. I live in FL. My Cingular sim card doesn't work in it...the message is "phone restricted." I've tried twice (unsuccessfully)to use a generated code from an online code calculator to unlock it, but in both both instances, the options didn't offer the 3120b option--only the 3120 or 3100b option. I'm getting a little nervous since I have only 3 tries left. I wonder if you can help. My info is: Nokia 3120b Type: RH-50 IMEI: 353783009339049 I think it is locked to Cingular (the guy was using the phone on Cingular until December 2005)
Thanks for responding. I punched in the code (double-checked it) and it didn't work...got the code error message. I have two more tries left. Any suggestions? Thanks again.
My son took the phone to a local Cingular store and they confirmed your diagnosis--AT&T locked. I have two more tries left to unlock it. Could you give me your best shot? Also, if the numbers don't work, I read something about unlocking via cable. Could you please give me some information about this? Like how do I do that? Where? How much does it cost? etc...thank you in advance :0)
I just had another quick question: when a Nokia 3120b phone powers up and says, "SIM card not ready," what does that mean? I have access to another phone with that message. Also, can you tell by the IMEI number if the phone is stolen? phone info: IMIE #: 356245/00/062677/1 CODE: 0524012FM12TG PART #: 797553009726 Can this one also be unlocked, even with the above message?
The original owners of the phone might have reported IMEI to be stolen. This prompts the service providers to block that IMEI from being used by anyone. As for the simcard not ready message, you might input an invalid prepaid simcard into the phone. Glad your code worked for you to get the phone unlocked.
