    Hi,

I recently flashed my 360 with iXtreme 1.4 (x12) and everything was working well until about 4 days after. I was watching a legitimate DVD movie and it started to have problems reading the media. I ejected the disc and tried a few times but the disc came back as unreadable. I stuck the same DVD movie in my media center and it played back perfectly. I then tried a backed up 360 game which failed to play, lots of disc spinning and then 'Unreadable Disc'.

I thought it might be bad media, even though the disc worked before, so I tried an orginal 360 game and it did the same - Unreadable Disc. I thought laser failure, but clutching at straws tried an audio CD which played fine.

Any ideas? Should I retry the flash at a slower speed? Any advice would be appreciated.

The unplayable disc error message means that there is something causing the spindle that drives the cd to get stuck. So you may put a game in and once the cd gets spinning and moving, you've probably noticed that the game will then launch. But if you get an unplayable disc error, all that means is that you'll need to take apart you drive so that you can see the disc spinning when you start your xbox up, and if you notice once you put a game in that the drive is having trouble spinning up the disc, you can aid it with a little push of your finger. That's what I had to do with my xbox and I haven't had an unplayable disc error message since.

Thanks. Do you mean leave the cover of the 360 off all the time, or is it just a one off helping finger and it should be OK for a while?

I might just get a new drive if the cover has to stay off.

i have my xbox cover off all the time and when i came across the unplayable disc error, I felt the same way about having to leave my xbox disassembled all the time. I like it in it's package but once I did it, I actually just left it uncovered and im fine with it. It never leaves my room so I don't need the case to be on. But for you, if it's better to get the new drive, i would do that.
