Game: Halo 4 Disc 1 -Verified using abgx360 (but not patched using it but passes stealth patches and other tests besides obviously the online database check) DVD Burner: IHAS124B with LiteON MAX Burner firmware. Blank Media: Verbatim MK0030 - Made in Singapore -Burnt using IMGBURN latest vers. Xbox 360 drive: Hitachi 47 flashed with LT+ 2.0 -I know this drive works as I have tried other games using it and it works fine but not burnt games. Dashboard version: 2.0.15574.0 Disc 1: i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a562/photoslolzorz/disk2.png (Image from Kprobe) Settings: 2.4x, OPC off, Layer break - Calculate Optimal Disc 2: i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a562/photoslolzorz/disk1.png (Image from Kprobe) Settings: 4.5x, OPC on, Layer break - Calculate Optimal Disc 3: i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a562/photoslolzorz/DISK3_zps575f79ae.png Best result, still doesn't work. I'm assuming because my drive is an older Hitachi and isn't capable of the ap25 checks that I don't need to patch the iso down to lt+ 2.0?. Both of these discs come up as "Unrecognized disk" on the Xbox 360, what am I doing wrong?, Thanks.
Well after allot of research I found out that the Hitachi 47 laser is weaker than other lasers and to read backups require a pot tweak. Image showing what to do: i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a562/photoslolzorz/potcal2_zps4346fa87.jpg You're meant to use a voltmeter otherwise you can potentially fry your laser, I didn't and it worked for me but it may not for anyone else, only turned it very slightly.
You can do that not only with Hitachi or Samsung drives, but also with BenQ and LiteOn, but in the long run you need a new laser, this normally only helps temporarily.
