    Hi there,

As mentioned above, you are 100% in the wrong forum :)

The forum here is to talk about DVD stuff.

It's like asking your Pizza Delivery guy, why your car won't start :)

Anyway, I don't know much about wireless networks, but here's what I know:

1- If you don't LOCK/Protect your wireless network, anyone passing in front of your house (Few houndred feet) will/can access your internet and even your computers on your private network at home if you don't lock it.

To prevent others to connect to your network, you can set Network Keys and install some network protection protocols like WEP (My Pocket PC asks for WEP and Network Keys when trying to connect to other's Wifi Nets).

So here is my "Wifi For Dummies" answer, so YES you need to protect yourself.

And again, don't expect detail help in here !

I agree on the need to protect yourself I know all my daughter has to do is take her laptop to her backyard and she can connect using three of her neighbors DSL connections.

    Hey,

I have a friend who has been using a few neighbors DSL connections for over 1 year now.

If you don't protect yourself, someone will enjoy it :)
