I have the same computer with the same dvd drive, updated to Windows 7 and its giving me a similar problem. When ever I try to burn an iso with nero, imgburn or dvddecrypter or even play a backed up dvd it removes the driver for the dvd drive. From what I'm reading so far its NOT fixable! I've read the Matshita drives a VERY picky about recordable media but I am using Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden and still having problems. I've also read that the copyright protection on Matshita drives is uncrackable and that my best bet is just to hook up an external drive.

Any more on this..... I would really much rather just use my existing drive.

Well D4ntheman it turned out its all just a bios update. Updated and now a 100%. Got the tip from Mic__soft e-mail tech support.
