    Hi

I'm trying to burn dvd's and having some trouble. I'm using DVD shrink, DVD decrypter and Nero. The burner I have came with the laptop. It's a Sony DVD+-RW DW-D56A. The encoding goes fine, but once it starts to burn, it only goes for like 2 seconds and then errors. This is what my log looks like.

    Welcome to AD lobster...

Please remove your serial number it is at the top of the log and begins with 1C83.

Your firmware is a little behind, current version is PDS7 and can be found here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces

For having a substantial amount of ram, you've almost run out...no multitasking!

You are attempting to write too close to the edge of the disc, set your target size in DVD Shrink to 4300.

Moser Bauer makes some appalling discs, those are TDK's right? I would suggest some quality media from Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Fuji or Maxell...all made in Japan with the exception of the Verbs.

Burning too slow can be as bad as burning too fast...up your speed to 4X.

This is Roxio's devil driver, it is known to create conflicts with alot of other programs...I would suggest removing Roxio in its entirety.

    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml

    Happy burning.

You need to edit out your Nero serial number from your burn log before it gets pirated. It is at the top of your post and starts with: 1C83-xxxx-xxxx....

As for your burn log, this is what I see:

You need to free up some memory. I would suggest not multitasking when burning - shut down all programs and don't use the computer while it is burning.

You have Roxio installed on your comuputer and it's drivers cause problems with Nero. You need to uninstall it and use Roxio Zapper to get rid of it. You can download it here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml

Imation disks are generally considered crap, landfill material. Try using some quality disks like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, or Maxell/Sony/Fuji (if made in Japan)

Most of the senior members at this site have found that burning at 4x is the optimum speed for best quality burns. I have found this to be true as well.

Try these and post back with another log if unsuccessfull.
