unstable internet conection

    I uninstaled Norton security after my license expired and installed AVG, but sence then, my internet connection going off every aprx. 20 minutes. I'm with AOL. Can someone help and tell me what to do??? Thanks a lot :)))

    Look at your Internet Explorer tool bar and Click on:

    Tools
    Internet Options
    Settings
    Advanced

    You should see something about Disconnect Times. Adjust them the way you want.

    Connections <--- Left this one off.
    Settings
    Advanced

    You should see something about Disconnect Times. Adjust them the way you want.

    i've tried all the settings, but there is nothing with times for disconecting. Thanks anyway for reply.

    yeah i had a simalr problem once....have you added a new phone or fax machine to your household? everything plugged into the wall should have a dsl filter on the end of it otherwise it will disturb your connection. aol sends you 3 dsl filters so just use that on the end of every phone, internet and fax machine you have in your house and it should resolve your problem.

    thanks a lot for reply, yes i have all this done. internet working alright now, all what i had to do was re-install modem drivers. thanks anyway:)

    no probs....im on aol to and personally i hate it download ccleaner and clean your registery and you'll see how many registery's aol has left after just reinsatlling the modems.
