I hate to start a new thread when this topic seems to be covered a lot...I read the the closed threads and saw the one about using clean tool to remove old nero progrmas which I thought was my problem however that did not work unless I did something wrong my problem: I recently downloaded the trial version of Nero 8 to see if it would be able to read a certain avi file that nero 7 could not. Anyhow before I had been using nero 7 for almost a year never with any problems. I installed Nero 8 which required the unistallation of nero7 and used it 2 or 3 times successfully until the demo ran out. I was contemplating buying nero 8 until I read that DVDshrink (which I use quite frequently) would not opertate with it. I tried to unistall nero 8 but when I went to reinstall nero 7 it recognized an already exsisting version of nero. I use the windows add/remove programs to try and further delete the program and it then allowed me to reinstall nero 7. After reinstalling nero 7 I have had only one successful burn out of 12 attempts. I use clean tool for both nero 7 and nero 8 and then reinstalled nero 7 still unable to complete a burn successfully using either just nero or DVDShrink. Is there any other way for me to make sure that nero has been completely remoed from my computer before I try to install it again. Any advice or help you can give would be most apprecitated. Are there any other free programs that I might be able to use for the time being with DVD shrink until I can resolve the nero problem.\ I didn't rule out the fact that it could be either the brner or the media as well, however that doesn't make much sense since everything worked perfectly up until the reinstallation of nero 7. Edit out your serial numbers before someone pirates them You can update your Nero to 7.10.1.0 from here http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?2893 Update your firmware to 1.24 from here http://wwwbsc.pioneer.co.jp/product-e/ibs/device_e/file/DVR-112D_FW124EU.EXE You have a lot of memory in use, don't multitask while burning These are horrible discs, try Verbatim or Sony (made in Japan) With these discs, slow burn to 4X

I just don't understand why all of a sudden this isn't working when I have been using the same dics ans write speed for a long time and no it decides to stop working after I unistall nero 8. I will let you know what I find after following your suggestions. Thanks again.
