i've had a starview 3 hooked up for about 6 months and it's working fine. i decided to try the old ntl box (the small one) the other day (it has been sitting in a drawer for 6 months) with the connection in the other room. i hooked it all up ok but only about 4 random channels are coming up. all the rest say i have not subscribed to them or something. i have tried resetting, unplugging and removing the card but it is still the same. does anyone know what i need to do to get the channels back?
Why cant we talk about a valid subscription? @niallers You need a update of your subscription date. Let the box running for an hour or switch to standby with the box connected to your cable feed and let it connected for some time.
How ya Noel... its great being back... LOL @ mgb17 forgive me but I cant see any mention of a Valid PAYED UP subscription, so Noel is right we cant talk about this!!!
Sorry. I forgot to say that I have a paid up subscription to upc which should give me more than 5 or 6 random channels! I left the box on from yesterday evening until now and it is still saying I have not subscribed to the channels. I have tried restarting it, unplugging it and removing the card but nothing has worked.
simple solution, pick up the phone and call them if you are subscribing to u@c then its up to them to sort it out for you.
this was the first thing i thought of doing but i didn't fancy trying to explain to them why i hadn't been using it for 6 months! plus i find their tech support to be fairly useless. so i thought i'd check here to see if anyone had a quick solution.
thats none of their business when and why you view, as long as your paying the bill just tell them it went off yesterday and to sort it out or take it back,i cannot understand the sense of fear these providers hold over people.
