"update" message from a back up ???

    i d/loaded call of duty 5, burnt it off, when i put it in the 360 it says an update needs to be applied in order to play game, giving me the choice to update or not, if i click no it just goes to 360 menu, is it safe for me to let it update from the game??????

    yeah you should be fine, they usually release updates to fix bugs and whatnot.

    game updates are fine. console dash updates are what you need to be worried about
