I'm hoping someone can help me! My iPod was working fine and then stopped working. I managed to get 155 songs on my Nano, and when I went to use it the other day on "shuffle songs" setting, it wasn't playing anything. The display would show the song title briefly, and it kept scrolling through the list, randomly play one song, then continue flashing through the song titles again. I've reset it, deleted the playlists, wiped the music off, created a new playlist, and now it allowed me to save 9 songs and says the memory's full. It's not letting me drag any more songs onto the iPod. I've tried manual updates, automatically updating all playlists, selected playlists, and nothing's working. I've installed the latest iTunes version and the updater, and that's not making any difference. I've reset the iPod. Nothing. Any ideas??
Try restorring it. It sounds like your iPod may have just gotten confused and has a bunch of music on it but forgot where it was. A restore with the iPod Updater *should* fix it.
Thanks! I've just tried that using the iPod updater. It says that the restore is complete, yet the display says "Do not disconnect" and the iPod isn't registering on iTunes - it says "no iPod connected". Is that to be expected?
Well the iPod takes some time to reboot itself but that should be fairly short lived. If it has said 'Do Not Disconnect' for some time now try disconnecting it and letting it be for a minute or two. If the screen doesn't go away hold down Menu and Center to reset it and try from there.
